LC8 Crank Lock Tool

The crank lock tool is used to lock the engine at top dead center when removing cams to change valve shims.

This bolt is longer than the KTM tool. Why longer? The stock bolt has no end on it and appears to be able to thread all the way in the engine if you miss the crank alignment slot. Mine has an end so you can turn it by hand and feel the slot and you can’t thread it all the way into the case. This is also not hardened. If you over tighten it, you won’t do any internal engine damage. Set engine to TDC, remove access bolt from right side of engine case and install this with light tension. No more worries!
