Colorado June 2007
Colorado June 2007
We ride out from out homes in WI and plan to camp as much as possible, riding
and staying at new parts of CO each night. We had 1 week.
Cody
Q-dog
We encountered heat, snow, wind and rain. I even
hit a deer and lived to talk about it. Q-dog became
quit ill, and unfortunately had to get to lower ground
about half way through the trip.
I met up with Cody in Salida for a few days and he
showed me some great trails.
I made it home Sun morn around 5 am just in time
to say Happy Father's day to my Dad before he
headed back home. (1200 miles in about 19hrs.
My longest non-stop ride ever)
Not much room to try and avoid this one. 40ft up, 40ft down, no guard rail. I had just enough time to
get the bike straight up after the turn. Skid marks are from me sliding with the deer wrapped up in my
front fender. Somehow I managed to ride it out, never went down.
Cody traveling light, Nice rack BTW.
Me, traveling to fit through the trails. Still
learning to pack lighter. I would guess I had
about 60lbs of gear on my rack, no problems.
Dead end!! Road not cleared with bulldozer yet.
Much easier going downhill on ice than back
up. I was just about to start hiking out with what
I needed to camp for the night.
Thankfully 2 ATVers came to winch me out,
another great use for the SW Mo-tech bars
63.7 miles on the e-light.
There has to be a town
around here some
place??????
Medano Pass- riding south to north, solo. Glad I did it
that way, Starting with the VERY deep sand is better
than ending with it when you are tired.
Last campsite in CO.
Last sunset in CO.
